Dog and pet-friendly hotels in Andorra!

Andorra is the perfect place to unwind, go for a walk with your dog or enjoy snow sports. As it’s a country with such a strong focus on rural tourism, there are plenty of pet-friendly hotels in Andorra.

A magical part of the Pyrenees, straddling the border between Spain and France. It’s brimming with nature and landscapes that will capture your heart. But Andorra isn’t just about nature; thanks to its geographical location, it enjoys a Mediterranean climate in summer and is one of the best destinations for winter sports. It’s no surprise, then, that over 90 per cent of the country consists of natural landscapes: lakes, mountains and three natural parks.

How do I choose the best accommodation in Andorra with a dog?

Most families nowadays have a pet. And this can be a problem when you want to go on holiday somewhere. However, this problem is gradually being solved. In fact, there are numerous hotels in Andorra that accept dogs or pets of any kind, such as cats, ferrets or hamsters. This way you can take your pet with you on holiday and not have to leave it with a friend or relative.

These hotels are very well located, have very good reviews (Booking or Tripadvisor) and have the best possible facilities for you and your pets to have an unforgettable holiday in Andorra. Moreover, unlike hotels in other areas, accommodation in Andorra with dogs is very cheap and in some cases, the pet's stay can be free of charge.

If you want to do rural tourism, hiking, visit natural parks or do outdoor sports with your dog, Andorra and its surroundings is the place to be. Andorra and its surroundings are the perfect place for this. Read on to find out more.

What to visit in Andorra with a dog?

Here we are going to give you a series of tips for visiting Andorra with a dog. The main thing we recommend is hiking in one of the country's three natural parks, following the routes of the Romanesque churches, not to miss the church of Sant Climent in Pal and the church of Sant Romà in Les Bons. You can also go skiing or snowboarding in one of the Grandvalira ski resorts or in the Vallnord ski resort. Another place you must visit is the Tristaina Lakes or the Engolasters Lakes. Your pets will enjoy this idyllic setting even more than you will. And last but not least, you can visit the Roc del Quer viewpoint.

Andorra la Vella is not all about nature. You must also visit Andorra la Vella, enjoy its typical streets, its history and relax in one of the city's fantastic spas and, if you feel like it, go shopping, as Andorra is a tax haven and you hardly pay any taxes. And finally, take a drive through the beautiful villages of the Principality of Andorra. Villages such as Fontaneda, Ordino, Bixessarri, Anyós, Llorts and Les Bons.

How to travel with a pet?

From HotelesMascotas.com we recommend travelling to Andorra by car because, although there is an airport in the Principality, there are not many commercial flights from the rest of the peninsula. The best option is to fly to Girona or Barcelona and from there rent a car and spend a totally independent holiday. From Barcelona it is usually a 3 hour drive to Andorra.

Remember that it is a different country, so you will need your ID card or passport and for your pet you will need to bring the vaccination schedule and all the dog's identification papers. This documentation is also usually required at the pet-friendly hotel where you are staying.

If you want to travel by AVE, you should know that Renfe does not allow pets weighing more than 10 kilos and they must be in their carrier or transport cage. Only one pet per person is allowed (dogs, ferrets, non-poultry, cats...) and their cage must not exceed 60x35x35cm.
